Obituary for Ralph Floyd

Ralph Alvin Floyd was born on June 28, 1961 the fifth child to MurielHefflin Floyd and Ralph E. Floyd (deceased). He departed unexpectedlyon November 28, 2016. He was one of the most lovable, kindest unselfishindividuals you would ever meet. On top of that he was extremely funny.He could always make you laugh despite the circumstances.While growing up in the East End area of Pittsburgh, Ralph participated inorganized sports with the Boys and Girls Clubs. He matriculated throughthe elementary, middle and secondary public school system of Pittsburgheventually becoming an outstanding defensive player for the championshipfootball team of Westinghouse High School in 1980. After graduating highschool he was married and fathered three children; Maurice, Terrell andAutumn.Ralph was such a compassionate person he took great pleasure in takingcare of people, plants and animals who needed help. He was an excellentcook and enjoyed socializing with family and friends over a good mealor Steeler football game! He maintained several jobs at nursing facilitiesin the area often befriending the residents while entertaining them with afunny story or joke. He was so friendly little children were drawn to himwhere he had a special nickname and a piece of candy for each one; justask the children that attended the BJWL After School Program of HomewoodNorth.Preceding Ralph in death were his father Ralph E. Floyd and sisters AutumnLynn Floyd and Monica Lois Floyd-Fowler. Left here to reflect onhis life and cherish his memory are his affectionate mother Muriel HefflinFloyd, wife, Pam Brown Floyd, his loving children; Maurice LamarFloyd, Sr, Terrell Lamont Floyd, Sr, and Autumn Lynn Denise Floyd all ofPittsburgh, PA., his adoring grandchildren, Maurice Lamar, Aniya Nyrae,Amauri Dior, Rico Lamar, Rakiya Lynae, Jada Nyjae, Terrell Lamont,Laila Terelle, Nylah Narae, Nasir Amir Floyd, devoted sister, Robbin D.Floyd-Jones (Michael) of Fort Washington, MD, dedicated brothers, JudeE. (Christine) and Mark C. (Catherine) Floyd of Pittsburgh, PA, benevolentuncles, Curtis L. (Francis) and Clyde T. (Patricia) Hefflin of Pittsburgh,PA, aunts, Ruth Hefflin of Pittsburgh, PA and Carole Floyd of Hampton,VA. There are many other relatives (nieces, nephews, cousins) neighborsand friends who will think of Ralph with warm fond memories and smile.He will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.
