Obituary

Jamey Devon Green “Jizzle,” 29, of North Versailles, Pennsylvania, passed away on the early morning hours of July 08, 2020.

Jamey Devon Green was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on October 27, 1990. He graduated from Wilkinsburg High School in 2009. Later he attended Community College of Allegheny County and studied Business. Jamey met the love of his life, Sarah Cleveland, in 2009. To this union, one child was born Jamaree D. Green.

Jamey worked as a Home Health Aid for Ideal Home Care for three years. He enjoyed football, basketball, music (up-and-coming rapper for 2020), a barber, and a phenomenal artist. Inactivity was not a part of his lifestyle when it came to working in the community which he served. He gave so fleeringly to others opening his home to those that needed a place to rest. Jamey was a caring, trustworthy, loving young man. He was the kind of person that would give you his last and help do whatever he could to brighten and assist those he helped. In 2019, Jamey accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior during his baptism in 2019.

Jamey departed this life on July 08, 2020. The family members left to carry on his legacy are survived by his maternal grandparents Gabriel and Barbara White, paternal grandmother Geneva Green-Blackwell, his father, James N. Green, mother, Tonia L. White-Lovett, brothers: Darnell Davis, Tamont Brown, Jayvon Green, Darrell Green, Darrell Johnson, Chris Green, Arron Green, Tywaun Green, James Green Jr., Jaydyn Green, Anico Green, Jaylynn Green, sisters: Jaquea Green, Jayla Green, Jayda Green, Janiya Green, and Jordyn Green, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and a host of exceptional and dedicated friends.

Jamey is preceded in death by Edward A. Green Sr. (grandfather).

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Revelation 21:4.
Today, I write to you from my heart with sorrow, pain, and sadness that my nephew, Jamey D. Green, 29, has passed away. As I sit back reminiscing about all your yesterdays, I can say that this family has been honored to have had you. We just talked on Father's Day (June 21, 2020) at your uncle's swim party with your brothers and sisters, and of course, your cousins and close friends. I can still hear those words, "What's up! Big Uncle?" We talked about your music and how you have been helping your father (James Green) out around the house. Jamey, we all miss you. Your life was taken today, but tomorrow begins a new journey with no more pain, no suffering, and no regrets.
I have been so moved in the pouring out of family and friends. We are grateful for every prayer they have prayed, every text message, every email, every comment, and every gesture of kindness they have extended at this time. No parent wants to bury their child, so we hoped and prayed for, but God had other plans. My brother, James, and my 'sister' Tonia lossed a son today, but his memory reminds in our hearts. Big ups to you, "Jizzle," my nephew on your incredible journey home.

Cousin, the most memorable moment of all time is when D’anne and I locked you in the closet. You leveraged your foot on the wall to help you use your body as a force against the door to get out. But your foot went through the wall and made a hole. LOL We tried to hide the hole from grandma by taping paper up and about a month later she found it. We got our butts whooped! So many good times growing up. I can go on and on. I love you dearly. Crying while typing this because we truly were like siblings growing up. You will be missed, your spirit will be missed, calling me “Sherry” will be missed lol. Tell Grandpa Charles how much we love and miss him. Rest In Peace.
