Obituary for Hattie Leonard Mrs.

Hattie Mae (Porter) Leonard was born April 21, 1948 to Mattie Porter Cooper and Alex Pressly in Sumter, South Carolina. Hattie was raised in the Homewood section of Pittsburgh. She attended Pittsburgh Public Schools and proudly graduated from Westinghouse High School in 1966. Go Bulldogs!Hattie married Paul Leonard, Jr of Belzhoover in 1973. From that blissful union came one son: Paul Antwon Leonard, III; married to Bobbie (Connor) Leonard. She was the proud grandmother of one “Diva Girl”, McKinley Faye and was expecting her first grandson in June. Mrs. Leonard spent many years working in Insurance and Real Estate throughout the Pittsburgh area. Hattie had a strong and passionate faith in the Lord and was a long time member of St. James Baptist Church and The Lord’s Church. The Lord called Hattie peacefully home in the early morning hours of February 15, 2013. Hattie leaves behind to mourn many half brothers and sisters. In addition, longtime friends: Lorraine, Shirley, Jackie, Darlene, Kitten, Frances, Miriam, and special cousin Mary Simms. Moreover her sisters in law: Ethel and Jeannette; brothers in law: James and JC. Hattie also loving leaves behind her niece Janelle and nephew Joel in addition to a host of very close cousins, family and friends.
