Obituary for Eli McCary

Eli McCary was born on June 18, 1950, son to the late John and Mary McCary, in Plantersville, Alabama. At an early age he joined Bethel Grove Baptist Church where he was baptized. He graduated from Billingsley High School in Billingsley, Alabama in 1971. He moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and made this his home forever. He joined Victory Temple Original Church in September 2015. In addition to being a loving husband and father, Eli worked for the Allegheny County Housing Authority for over 30 years and he also branded his own painting business, “Splash of Color”. He never lost his love for Alabama and would take annual trips there to go hunting and fishing with his brothers. His favorite college football team was Alabama Crimson Tide. Eli married the love of his life, Carmen on July 18, 1991. He is also survived by his two brothers; John Ed (Everlene) McCary, Levi (Brenda) McCary. Seven sisters; Mary Ed (Vernette) Stone, Ida Bell Allen, Shirley Wilkinson, Annie Ruth (Sidney) McCary, Rosie McCary, Lula Bell (Benjamin) Umphries and Cornelia (Bobby) Moore; six children, LeAnne McCary, Brad McCary, Kenneth Williams, Tamira Williams, ShaWan Chisolm and Eli Robert McCary; 10 grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
