Obituary for Don Carol Florence

Don Carol Florence was born to Rebecca and the late A.J. Florence, Jr. on November 6, 1960. She passed away on October 5, 2016 at Shadyside Hospital. She is the oldest of three children and was baptized in the Methodist church at a young age.Don attended the Pittsburgh Public School System and graduated from Peabody High School in 1978. She dedicated her life’s work to taking care of family and friends, as well as working as a home health aide for the elderly. She had a real zest for life and lived life to its fullest. She was outspoken and assertive but to those who knew her, she was a true friend. She also enjoyed attending concerts, shopping for clothes, especially purses. She was a Diva before the word was invented. She was known to be a very vibrant and vocal Steeler Fan.Years ago, she accepted the responsibility of raising three children that blessed her life and enriched theirs. They loved her deeply and affectionately caller her G-Mom.She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving Mother Rebecca Florence; her children Calmar, Ezekiel, and Ethan. Sister Sheila Williams (David); Brother Keith Malizio, Nephews David and Keith, Jr., companion James Mosely, and a host of cousins and friends.
