Carl had a wealth of knowledge and experience and he often stopped by my office to discuss his plans for training and his personal feelings about his job and family. Condolence: I had the pleasure of working with Carl through the National Signals Training Consortium. Carl was a dedicated Subject Matter Expert while he was working with CATS and then helped to push VTA to join after he went to work there. I wish I had had more time to get to know him but from my limited interactions, Carl was professional but warm - very knowledgeable and although not pushy, was called to action for the things he believed in - like creating pathways for the next generation into the railroading industry.
