Obituary for Tracy Ray

Tracy Lynn Ray transitioned over from this world to glory on Saturday, June 27, 2020.
Tracy was born to the late Raymond and Joann Ray on January 12, 1961 in St. Clair Village. She was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School System where she graduated from Carrick High School. Tracy joined the U.S. Army in 1981 and attended boot camp at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. After successfully completing boot camp, Tracy was on active duty until 1986. She would later spend several years serving our country as a member of the U.S. Army Reserves. Tracy was a great caregiver with a servant’s heart. She was a certified nursing assistant (CNA). She loved taking care of her patients until medical challenges prevented her from continuing in a job she loved. Tracy was recently employed by PAL American as a security guard. Very early in Tracy’s life she was taught the word of God by her mother. Her parents made sure all of their children and cousins attended Sunday school (every Sunday). On April 20, 2014 Tracy was again touched by the Spirit of the Lord, renewed her relationship with Jesus Christ and was baptized at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Tracy loved a lively church with good preaching and good gospel music. She continued to look for a church home that was spirit-filled and contemporary.

Tracy loved to sing, dance, and spend time with family and friends. Her life revolved around her love for her children and her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending family gatherings to spend time with her aunts and cousins. Tracy loved going to Maryland to spend time with her sister and brother in law. She cherished the barbecues with her brother and his family.

Tracy leaves to cherish her memory: her parents: the late Raymond and the late Joann Ray, her children: Brandon Ray, Nelson Gee, Jr., and Nicole Gee; Her siblings: The late Raymond
“Monty” Ray, the late Cornell Ray “Zippy” (Brenda), Ernestine “Tiny” Gross (Bishop Kevin G.), and Shawn Ray (Carmen); two grandchildren, Callie Vaughn, Nyzair Gee; Nieces; Kayla Ray, Rhonda Harris, Falonda Parker; nephews: Anthony Reeves, Aaron Germany, Keyshawn Ray, Ronald Harris; Aunts: Dolores Slater, Diane Turner, Patricia Wilds, Geraldine Player King and Patricia Conner; First cousins: Kim, Michelle, Renee, Devon, Trisha, Robin, Quinn, Eric, Juan, Cindy, Alisha, and a host of second and third cousins, great nieces, great nephews and a host of friends.
