Obituary for Tawanda E. Cooper
Tawanda Evelyn Cooper was born to the late Florence Cooper Roberts on May 15, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan. She passed away unexpectedly at the age of 67 at Wexford Healthcare Center on Friday April 19, 2024 after a brief illness.
Tawanda attended East Deer High School where she graduated in 1974. Following high school she worked for Gulf Research. In 1982 Tawanda relocated to Long Beach, California where she continued her education and received her Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. There she worked for the City of Long Beach Economic Development Department until her retirement.
Tawanda loved the sport of tennis. She was a very active tennis player and spend a lot of her time on the tennis courts. Tawanda also was an avid Steeler fan.
Tawanda never had any children of her own but loved every child that she came in contact with. She cherished and treated them as though they were her own.
Cherishing Tawanda’s memory are all of her cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
