Obituary for Rebecca M Williams (Sales)

On August 2, 2020, the Lord saw fit to transition his servant, Rebecca
(Becky) Williams from labor to reward. Rebecca M. Sales was born
on April 10, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late James Van Sales and
the late Mary Martha Moore. She attended Northeaster High School
in Detroit, Michigan and graduated from Western House High School
in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Rebecca was married to the late Melvin
Dillingham of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. To this union, was born 2
children; Kelvin Dillingham, Sr. who preceded her in death and 1
daughter, Sharon Dillingham who preceded her in death. Rebecca
received the Lord at an early age and became a member of the church
of God. Later, she became a member of the St. James A.M.E. Church
in 1994. Her pastor was Reverend Dr. Frederick Wright. Rebecca was
a faithful member at her church. She served on the steward board, the
usher board, the willing workers ministry, and the pro-po ministry.
On March 30, 2003 she attended a revival at the church pastored by
Bishop Nathan McAllister in Duquesne, Pennsylvania where she was
baptized in Jesus name and received the Holy Spirit. Rebecca loved to
travel. In 2000, she became the president of her local AARP. She was
responsible for working with the retirement group to plan trips for
seniors.
On April 11, 1981, Rebecca was united in holy matrimony to Mance
Williams. Rebecca worked for the Honeywell Company in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania and retired after working many years. Rebecca loved
the Lord and her family. She loved going to church and worshipping
God, going to sports events, shopping and cooking soul food. Rebecca
always looked like a million dollars and more when she stepped
outside of her home. Rebecca had an amazing smile that would bring
light to a dark city. Rebecca leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband,
Mance Williams; grandson, Kelvin Dillingham, Jr.; one great granddaughter,
Kiara, and two great grandsons, Samar and Darnell. A daughter in
law, Renae Dillingham of Orlando, Florida; one brother, John (Janet)
Sales of Fort Washington, Maryland; one godson, Kevin Hall of
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, two goddaughters, Gwendolyn Norman of
Detroit, Michigan and Anita Michelle Seabrook of Columbia, South
Carolina and one special daughter, Pastor Brenda (Jackie) Wilson of
Amherst, NY. Two dedicated friends, Zenobia Tillison of Detroit,
Michigan, Vivian Shelton of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a host of
relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death,
son, Kelvin Dillingham, Sr., daughter, Sharon Dillingham; four
brothers, James Loyal (Thelma) Sales, Lorenzo Vance (Naomi) Sales,
Frederick Lincoln (Jean) Sales, Harry Willard (Freda) Sales; two
sisters, Ola May (Leonard) Sales-Lott, and Esther (Richard) Sales-
Lavalle.
