In as much as it has pleased the Almighty God in his infinite wisdom to take the life of our beloved Naomi Hunt (affectionately known as Sweet also, Granny). It is only befitting that we record our appreciation of her. Naomi was born April 28,1930 in Selma, Alabama to the late Naomi Edwards and Joseph Vann Sr. She was educated in the Selma Alabama school system completing high school. Naomi was married to the late Curtis Melvin Hunt in 1951, and to this union was born 3 children: Robert Lee Hunt, Jeffrey Allan Hunt, and Quintincy Maria Hunt. She was a devoted housewife raising her family in Philadelphia, later moving to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Along with raising her biological children she also raised her granddaughter Michelle Andrea Hunt as her own. Naomi enjoyed game shows, word searches, she loved good company, and mostly enjoyed spending time with her sisters. Granny loved the Lord, and she was a faithful member of King of Kings Baptist Ministries. She was a cheerful giver and loved the music ministry at church, especially hearing her beloved granddaughter Tasha and adopted grandson Michael. She will truly be missed sitting in the front on the right side in the first few pews with her tissues in her hand. She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband Curtis Melvin Hunt, son Robert Hunt and grandson Kenyatta Maurice Hunt, her parents, her brother Joseph Vann jr, her sister Lucy Ruth Sheppard, and her brother Robert Vann. Naomi departed from this life Thursday March 10,2022 quietly at her home. She leaves to cherish her memory: her sister Nellie Mae Medina (Rafael), sister-in law Shirley Vann, son Jeffrey and daughters Quintincy and Michelle. Her 3 granddaughters Athena, Zenia, Natashia Anglin (adopted grandson Michael Gregory Banks, and 2 great grandchildren, also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and loved ones.
