Obituary for Louis Raymond St. Clair Jr.

Louis Raymond St. Clair, Jr. was born on February 6, 1948, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the
late Christine St. Clair (Love) and Louis Raymond St. Clair, Sr. He was raised in the Hill District,
attending A. Leo Weil Elementary School, Herron Hill Middle School, and the famed Schenley
High School. After he graduated from high school, he enlisted for a tour in the U.S. Army in
1966 and was a veteran of the Vietnam war. He later served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He was employed by the Port Authority as a bus driver. After his retirement, he spent five
years driving tractor-trailers across the United States, pursuing his passions for the road. Louis
was very social, and everyone knew him. He was a Mason, and a member of the St. John Baptist
Church where he had been baptized.

Louis was respected and loved by many. He collected albums and often played them on his
turntable; he had a consummate knowledge of jazz and R&B music, dressed with flair, and
could throw the best dance parties. He enjoyed cooking, starting when he was a cook in the
Army, photography, art, taking road trips, and watching movies. He loved dogs and always kept
exotic fish at home in a large aquarium. Many knew him to be high-spirited, full of energy and
spunk, and independent in thought and deed. He cared for his family and loved his wife,
Noretta St. Clair (Williams), who preceded him in death. He left us too soon and will be dearly
missed.

He had a brother, Nathaniel St. Clair, who preceded him in death, and he has a sister, Joyce
Marie Broadus. Louis is survived by four children, Derek St. Clair, Dana St. Clair, Aaron Brundage, Ph. D., and
Olivia St. Clair; one nephew, Jonathan Broadus; and eight grandchildren, Jada Damond, Kevin
Damond, DeJon St. Clair, Deglin DeVar St. Clair, Jamison St. Clair, Emma Brundage, Naomi
Brundage, and Joy Brundage.
