Obituary for Lisa Henderson

Lisa Henderson, daughter of Laverne Robinson & Eugene Childes, was born October 15th, 1954 in the Hill District of Pittsburgh, PA. She passed away in St. Clair hospital on September 28th, 2021, after an extended illness. She is now at rest, and awaiting the return of her Lord Jesus Christ for his church.

Lisa grew up in a tight knit Christian household, and was especially close to her Grandfather, to whom she was “the apple of his eye.” She graduated from Pittsburgh’s Schenley High School, and went on to work as a research assistant at Pitt University shortly after graduation.

Lisa loved to sing, and was able to join in number of different church choirs, and vocal ensembles over the years; which was a blessing to people and gave glory to God. She has been active in various Christian ministries, and endeavored to be a faithful follower of the Way, the Lord Jesus Christ, all her life.

She spent much of her career at Iron City Uniform, before she took an early retirement to care for her mom as a dutiful daughter. She was preceded in death by her mother, Laverne in 2010.
Likewise Lisa was cared for in her own need by by many caregivers and friends who helped make her illness more bearable.

Lisa leaves behind many loving friends and fellow-believers in this area, and she awaits the moment, as do we, when she will hear “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

She will be laid out at Coston Funeral Home 471 Lincoln Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15206.

Showing hours will be Tuesday October 12th, 5 -7 PM, and her memorial service will be Wednesday October 13th, at 6 PM. (Doors open at 5 PM)
