Obituary for James A. Moore Jr.

James Alfred Moore, Jr. was born to James Alfred Moore, Sr. and Dora Moore on May 15, 1949 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He departed this temporal life for life eternal on December 5, 2020.

James was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School system, where he graduated from Peabody High School. Following graduation, James served his country in the United States Army from 1970-1972. He was stationed in Vietnam where he was a parachutist and rifle marksman. James met his wife Donna in 1972 and they were wed on March 27, 1976. James was employed by the City of Pittsburgh Department of Environmental Services for over 20 years. While working, he also attended Rosedale Technical Institute in the evening where he received an auto mechanic certification. James was a music lover and avid fisherman. His favorite place was by the water, casting his reel. James stayed in great physical shape by riding his bike throughout the city.

James was preceded in death by his son, James Fleming, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Donna M. Moore; mother Dora Moore; daughters Anita Fleming, Tanya Fleming, Danielle Portis-Monds (Chris); sisters Sheila Moore, Helen Durden, Rhonda Moore; granddaughters Deja Weaver, Christen Monds; grandsons Eric Newsome, Jr., James Fleming, Jr., Devin Monds; great grand-children Harmony, Christina, Naomi, Eric III; cousin Jesse Wall; and a host of relatives and friends.
