In Loving Memory: Gary Lee Prunty
Gary, a cherished individual who touched the lives of many, passed away on May 15, 2023, with
heavy hearts, we gather to honor his memory and celebrate a life well-lived. He was born on
June 20, 1937, and brought light and joy into this world until May 15, 2023.
He was a beloved Husband, Step- Father, brother, nephew, cousin, and a pillar of strength for
His community. He will be remembered for his several years dedication to the Navy. Whether it
was his infectious laughter, unwavering kindness. He will most be remembered for his talkative
spirit and his love for people and socialization. He enjoyed socializing with his family and
friends; and had a unique ability to bring people together. Gary left a mark on all who had the
privilege of knowing Him.
He was born the son of Clevetta Prunty and John Brown on June 20, 1937. He attended the
Pittsburgh Public School system. After graduating he enlisted in the Navy. He worked as a
Supervisor for Allegheny County Maintenance. During his work as the Supervisor of
Maintenance he met his beloved wife Elizabeth Ramsey in 1987 they were married for thirty-six
years and remained married until his transition on May 15, 2023. His unwavering love and
compassion for his Stepsons Shawn and Eric will never be forgotten.
Gary leaves behind a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts
of those he touched. He will be dearly missed by His family, and close friends, who find solace
in the cherished moments and memories shared.
As we mourn the loss of Gary Prunty, he was proceeded in death by his mother, father, a
brother Jack Prunty, and Stepson Shawn. Let us remember the profound impact he had on our
lives. In his honor, may we carry forward his spirit of kindness, compassion, and resilience,
making a positive difference in the world, just as he did.
