Gale Phillps Wright was born on January 24.1940 to James and Thelma Wright. As a child, she grew up in the neighborhood of Frog Town in East Liberty. She attended Peabody High School where she graduated in 1957. After high school she went to Duff's Business Institute in downtown Pittsburgh. Shortly after, Gale married Ulysses A. Robinson Sr. in 1959. This union was blesses with three children, Gale Rene Robinson, Ulysses A. Robinson, Jr. and Phillip L. Robinson.

Gales fondest memories were those at church. At the age of 12, Gale was baptized at Sixth Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Gale belonged to the Ushers Board and the Nursing Board and in later years became the administrative assistant to the then Pastor, Rev. Dr. Eugene Downing.

Gale was preceded in death by her parents James and Thelma Wright, her brother James T. Wright, sister Thelma (Becky) Weston, and sister- in-law Reba J. Wright

Gale leaves to cherish her memory, her children Gale Rene Robinson, Ulysses A. Robinson, Jr., (Kim), and Phillip L. Robinson, (Toia). Her grandchildren, Ulysses A. Robinson, Twauna Terrell and two great grandsons, Ulysses A. Robinson IV, and Michael Barron III, her brother John P. Wright (Laurie), sister Michelle M. Wright, brother-in-law Gerald Weston and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
