Obituary for Donald Isaac Mitchell Sr.

Donald Isaac Mitchell Sr, was born on March 3rd , 1944, in Pittsburgh Pa to the late
Florence Mitchell (Pritchard). Donald attended the Pittsburgh Public Schools.
Donald accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at the
Lincoln Avenue Church of God in 1976. He worked for the Pittsburgh Board of
Education as Senior Truck Driver for 36 years before he retired.

Donald was active in his community as a Boyscout Leader of Pack and Troop 48.
He was also the drill team founder and leader of the Jr. Heard Drill for the Lincoln
Avenue Elks. He coached youth football with the Lincoln-Larimer Association then
with the Wilkinsburg Football Association.

Donald was member of the Lincoln Avenue Elks, and a past Exalter Ruler and a
loyal member of Prince Hall Masonic Lodge. Donald was known for his wonderful
singing and was the Songbird for Pennsylvania State Elks.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents Florence and Albert Pritchard. He
leaves to mourn him one son Donald I. Mitchell Jr. (Brandiss), two daughters
Torriona Mitchell and Tennille Mitchell and also his love and companion of 30yrs
Loretta Freeman. Donald had fifteen grandchildren, Anthony (Megan), Santina,
Donald III, Sade’, Langston, Torriona, Roget’, Tatyana, Tayona, Jamie, Sergio
(DeAnna), Jashaun, Jayda, Tommy, Tomi. Fifteen great grandchildren and a host of
nieces, nephews, cousin’s other relatives and friends.
