Obituary for Dolores M. Anderson-Lyons

Dolores Marie Anderson Lyons as her family and friends called
her Dee was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 24th 1930 to the
late. Edward and Anna Anderson. Tragically at the age of two
Dolores mother Anna Anderson passed away and Edward
remarried Lorena Anderson who helped raise Dolores as one of
her own.

Dolores graduated from Schenley High School in 1948. After
graduating High School she started her career at Presbyterian
Hospital of Pittsburgh where she worked her way up to the
Head Supervisor of the Cafeteria until she retired. While
working at the Hospital, Dee also went to University of
Pittsburgh where she got her Dietitian Degree and also she
attended Community College of Allegheny County where she
got her Psychology Degree.

After marrying her High School sweetheart Otis Lyons Jr., he
and Dolores enjoyed life and being together. Until, Otis
unfortunately received his wings from the Lord and passed on.
But, that did not stop Dee from being a wonderful member of
Good Hope Baptist Church, and she was the head conductor of
the chore at the church enjoying her life with her loving family
and friends. She will always be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her mother Anna Anderson,
father Edward Anderson, step-mother Lorena Anderson, three
brothers Edward,Theodore,Joseph Anderson, and one step-
brother John W. Smith Sr. and three step-sisters, Susan Smith
Coleman, Mattie Smith Ford, Rosa Smith Yancy. Her beloved
husband Otis Lyons Jr and nephew John W. Smith Jr.

Dolores Loved her family and friends that she had to leave
behind. Nieces Anna Anderson and Lorena Smith Pollard. And
a host of family and friends.
