Anthony Morris, a substitute teacher, youth boys’ basketball coach, and life-long resident of Arlington Heights, died unexpectedly on December 13, 2020 at the age of 39. He is survived by his daughter, Noel Schmitt, mother, Beverly Freeman, siblings (Delia Freeman, Nicole Freeman, Shelby Freeman, Philip Freeman, David Simpson, Darmekia Everson, Michael Everson, Will Hancock, and Terrell Hancock), also nieces and nephews, extended family and his close and loving friends.

Anthony was born in Pittsburgh on July 15, 1981 to William Morris and Beverly Freeman. He graduated from Carrick High school in June, 2000 and worked as a substitute teacher for the Pittsburgh Public school system from August 2009 until he recently accepted a teaching position with the Pittsburgh Project.
Anthony was a devoted father, a great debater (a.k.a. tormentor), and a passionate sports fan of the Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees, and the Michigan Wolverines. He enjoyed the game of basketball not only as a former player, but also as a youth boys’ basketball coach. He was a mentor and friend to so many kids in the city of Pittsburgh. He also had the best Jordan Brand shoe collection in the city, and every week, all his friends and family would anticipate and wonder which pair he would post on his Facebook page next! He would often dine out at many local restaurants and each time he would post a picture of the food and give his review of the restaurant on his Facebook page. Many of his friends would specifically try out a restaurant based on his review, because Anthony loved to eat! He created the legendary weekly Facebook discussion called “The Good, Bad, and Ugly”, which many people grew to love and participate in. It was a fun way for all of his friends and family to tease and joke while enjoying watching their favorite NFL teams play on Sunday. No one could ever win an argument with Anthony, but everyone still loved to debate with him because he was so, so, so, funny and he really could make you mad and happy at the same time. His favorite saying was, “You Mad, You Mad, You Mad.” He was always smiling and making people laugh. Anyone who had the opportunity to get to know him, would fall in love with him because he was an amazing person who had the kindest heart. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew him.

A memorial service is scheduled for 3-5pm on Monday December 21, 2020 at Coston Funeral Homes Inc. located at 427 Lincoln Ave, Pittsburgh PA 15206. Flowers, donations, condolences may be offered at the funeral home.
